what we do

Harlem Healers focuses on the importance and power of the written word. We engage the community through writing by introducing innovative and groundbreaking works of literature, poetry, storytelling, creative writing, music, theater, performance art, visual art workshops and productions that will ignite the imagination and reintroduce the power of writing.

Jameelah Founded Harlem Healers with the purpose of using art and poetry as a way of healing. She hopes her dedication of helping others empowers individuals to be authentic and true to themself.

Our vision is to lead underserved peoples to an artistic journey towards healing and self discovery.

why we do it

If people can re-write the narratives of their lives, they can rewrite the narratives of their communities and beyond. Writing is a value and strength that affords the community an opportunity to feel the need for mental change so that they can embark on their realities of success and start their day of new beginnings.
